UL 1213 PTFE Hook-Up Wire 105°C 600V, Silver-Plated Copper
UL 1213 wire is a 600 V PTFE-insulated hook-up wire with a silver-plated copper conductor, rated 105 °C as a UL wire style and 200 °C under MIL-W-16878/4, for internal wiring of electronic and electrical equipment.
- Voltage rating600 V
- UL style temperature105 °C
- MIL-W-16878/4 rating200 °C
- ConductorSilver-plated copper
- ConstructionSolid or stranded
- InsulationPTFE, 0.010 in to 0.015 in
- Sizes32 to 10 AWG
- Nominal O.D.0.029 in to 0.131 in
UL 1213 is the UL wire style for 600 V, 105 °C PTFE hook-up wire. TEBAOFLEX makes it with a PTFE wall of 0.010 in to 0.015 in over annealed silver-plated copper, solid or stranded, from 32 AWG to 12 AWG under the UL style, plus a 10 AWG construction supplied to the MIL-W-16878/4 rating only.
The thin wall keeps the wire small: a 22 AWG 19 × 34 construction has a nominal outside diameter of 0.050 in, and 32 AWG only 0.029 in. Choose UL 1213 for dense point-to-point wiring and harnesses inside electronic and electrical equipment, where space and weight matter. The UL style rating is 105 °C; where a design works to MIL-W-16878/4, the same PTFE construction is rated 200 °C.

Application & Features
Selection overview
UL 1213 is used for internal and point-to-point wiring of electronic and electrical equipment: control panels, instruments, power supplies, communication and test equipment, where many small conductors must fit through tight wire ducts and connectors. Solid conductors suit fixed point-to-point connections; 7- and 19-strand conductors suit wiring that is bent during assembly or sees vibration in service.
Within the TEBAOFLEX range, compare UL 1212 for a 150 V PTFE wire rated 80 °C, UL 1199 for 600 V PTFE over silver-plated copper rated 200 °C as a UL style, and UL 3287 for a 600 V, 105 °C wire with XLPE insulation.
- Thin PTFE wall0.010 in for 16 AWG and smaller, for compact harnesses and dense wire ducts.
- Two temperature ratings105 °C as UL 1213 and 200 °C under MIL-W-16878/4 for the same construction.
- Solid or strandedSolid 1 × n conductors from 32 AWG to 20 AWG, and 7-, 19- or 37-strand constructions.
- Colour codingStandard colour codes and custom colours for traceable wiring.

FAQ
Selection questions
What is UL 1213 wire?
UL 1213 is a UL wire style for PTFE hook-up wire rated 600 V and 105 °C. The TEBAOFLEX version uses a thin PTFE wall over solid or stranded silver-plated copper, from 32 AWG to 12 AWG, for internal wiring of electronic and electrical equipment.
Why is the wire rated both 105 °C and 200 °C?
The two figures apply to the same PTFE construction under two different specifications: 105 °C is the temperature rating of the UL 1213 wire style, and 200 °C is the rating under MIL-W-16878/4. Design to 105 °C when the equipment uses the UL style, and tell us if your design works to the MIL-W-16878/4 rating.
Is 10 AWG available as UL 1213?
No. The 10 AWG 37 × 26 construction is supplied to the MIL-W-16878/4 rating of 200 °C and 600 V only and is outside the UL 1213 wire style. If you need a UL-style marking at that size, ask our engineers for an alternative.
How does UL 1213 compare with UL 1212 and UL 3287?
UL 1212 is a PTFE wire rated 150 V and 80 °C for low-voltage circuits. UL 3287 has the same 600 V, 105 °C rating as UL 1213 but uses XLPE insulation. UL 1213 combines the 600 V rating with a thin PTFE wall and silver-plated copper.

Quality Assurance
Testing at every stage in our own workshop and laboratory, from incoming copper to the packed drum.

Raw Material Inspection
Every batch of copper rod, rubber compound and reinforcing material is checked before it reaches the line.
- Copper: conductor resistance, elongation and surface condition on incoming rod and drawn wire
- EPR, CPE, PUR and silicone compounds: hardness, tensile strength, elongation and ageing samples from each mix
- Suppliers and batch numbers are recorded so every drum can be traced back to its materials

Manufacturing Process Control
Stranding, insulation extrusion, core assembly and sheathing run under recorded process parameters.
- Class 5/6 stranding with lay length and tension monitored for trailing and reeling flexibility
- Continuous-vulcanisation extrusion with wall thickness and spark tests logged on every length
- Operators sign off each stage before the cable moves to the next machine

Electrical Testing
Finished lengths go through the routine tests required by the referenced VDE, ICEA, IEC or NEK standard.
- Conductor resistance and insulation resistance on every length
- Voltage withstand (3.5 kV and higher) and partial-discharge measurement in the shielded HV laboratory
- Screen and pilot-core continuity checks for mining and reeling constructions

Mechanical and Ageing Tests
Samples from production are tested for the duty a mining, crane or submersible cable will actually see.
- Tensile strength and elongation of insulation and sheath before and after ageing
- Hot-set, ozone, oil-immersion and low-temperature bending tests
- Constant-temperature water bath for insulation resistance of submersible constructions

Flame Test and Final Inspection
Before packing, the cable is checked against the order and the flame-performance requirement of its standard.
- Single-cable vertical flame test to IEC 60332-1-2 where specified
- Metre marking, printing, drum length and appearance inspection
- Test report and packing list issued with every shipment
