PVC Control & Data Cable

TEBAOFLEX PVC control and data cables cover four European designations. LiYY and LiYCY carry data, signal and control circuits in electronic equipment, instrumentation and automation; YY and YSLYSY are 300/500 V control cables for machine tools, conveyors and production lines. All four have fine-stranded bare copper conductors, PVC core insulation and a PVC sheath, and differ in screen, braid, core identification and voltage rating.

PVC control and data cables in the European designation families. LiYY (unscreened) and LiYCY (tinned copper braid screen) carry data, signal and control circuits in control cabinets, machines and instrumentation. YY is a flexible multicore control cable for machine and panel wiring, and YSLYSY adds a galvanised steel wire braid where the cable needs mechanical protection.

Product Advantages

What sets TEBAOFLEX PVC Control & Data Cable apart in service.

Four Designations, One Family

Unscreened LiYY, screened LiYCY, numbered-core YY and steel-braided YSLYSY cover signal, data and control wiring from the cabinet to the machine.

Fine-Stranded Copper

Fine-stranded bare copper conductors keep the cables flexible for routing through cabinets, ducts and machine frames.

Screened for EMC

LiYCY carries a tinned copper braid over the whole core bundle, typically 70 % to 85 % optical coverage, for signals near drives and contactors.

Steel Braid Protection

YSLYSY places a galvanised steel wire braid between a grey PVC inner sheath and a transparent outer sheath, so braid damage can be seen during inspection.

Clear Core Identification

DIN 47100 colours on LiYY and LiYCY; black cores with white numbers and a green/yellow earth from three cores on YY and YSLYSY.

Indoor Temperature Range

-5 °C to +70 °C when flexed on all four types; fixed installation down to -30 °C (LiYY, LiYCY) or -15 °C (YY, YSLYSY).

Technical Comparison

Typical values for the four constructions; the TEBAOFLEX datasheet issued with your quotation confirms the construction for your order.

How to Choose PVC Control & Data Cable

Four decisions specify the right cable the first time; send them with your RFQ and our engineers confirm the type designation.

1

Screen or Braid

No screen (LiYY, YY), a tinned copper braid against interference (LiYCY), or a galvanised steel wire braid against impact and crushing (YSLYSY).

2

Signal or Control Voltage

LiYY and LiYCY are for signal circuits, 250 V to 500 V peak, not for power; YY and YSLYSY are rated 300/500 V for control circuits.

3

Cores, Size and Identification

Count circuits and spares, pick 0.14–1.5 mm² for signals or 0.75–2.5 mm² for control, and DIN 47100 colours or numbered cores.

4

Movement and Environment

Fixed or occasional flexing indoors; protect YY and YSLYSY from sunlight outdoors, and confirm drag-chain or continuous motion with our engineers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about PVC Control & Data Cable from our engineers.

01What is the difference between LiYY, LiYCY, YY and YSLYSY?

LiYY and LiYCY are small data and signal cables with DIN 47100 colour-coded cores for electronic equipment, instrumentation and automation; LiYCY adds a tinned copper braid screen. YY and YSLYSY are 300/500 V control cables with black numbered cores for machine tools, conveyors and production lines; YSLYSY adds a galvanised steel wire braid between two PVC sheaths for mechanical protection.

02Which cable do I need where there is electrical interference?

Choose LiYCY. Its tinned copper braid covers the whole core bundle and protects signals near frequency converters, contactors and power cables when the braid is clamped over its full circumference in an EMC gland or screen clamp. The steel braid of YSLYSY gives some shielding effect, but its main job is mechanical protection.

03Can these cables be used for RS-485 or Modbus?

LiYCY can carry short, low-baud RS-485 links inside a cabinet. It is not a 120 Ω bus cable, so a bus that runs hundreds of metres or at higher baud rates needs a dedicated 120 Ω data cable. LiYY is unscreened and not built to a controlled impedance; use it for low-frequency signal and control wiring.

04Can LiYY or LiYCY carry mains or motor power?

No. LiYY has a 250 V peak operating voltage and LiYCY 350 V or 500 V peak, for signal circuits only. For 300/500 V control circuits that feed contactors, valves or small motors, choose YY, or YSLYSY where the cable needs mechanical protection.

05Are these cables suitable for drag chains or outdoor use?

No. All four are built for fixed installation and occasional flexing or free movement without tensile stress, not for continuous drag-chain, torsion or reeling duty. LiYY and LiYCY are for dry and damp indoor rooms, and YY and YSLYSY need protection from sunlight outdoors. Tell us the motion and environment and our engineers will propose a suitable construction.

06What should I send for a quotation?

Send the designation, core count and cross-section, numbered or colour-coded cores, the length or drum lengths, fixed or moving installation and the environment, how the screen or braid will be terminated, the sheath colour and any standards, markings or test documents your project requires. Our engineers confirm the construction on the TEBAOFLEX datasheet issued with your quotation.
