LiYCY Cable
LiYCY Cable is a flexible screened multicore PVC data, signal and control cable for instrumentation, automation and process-control installations. Confirm the exact core size, voltage, temperature and bending requirements for your project.
Product Overview
LiYCY Cable is a flexible, screened multicore PVC cable for low-frequency data transmission, signal circuits, instrumentation and control systems. Its fine-stranded copper conductors and overall copper braid screen support reliable routing in automation cabinets, measuring equipment, process-control panels and other installations where electromagnetic interference must be limited.
LiYCY is a product designation rather than one fixed size. Core count, conductor cross-section, voltage, temperature, bending radius and electrical parameters vary by construction. Use the reference information below for initial selection, then send the required cores, cross-section, length, installation motion and environment with your RFQ so TEBAOFLEX can confirm the exact design.
Construction
| Component | Typical reference construction | Selection note |
|---|---|---|
| Conductors | Fine-stranded bare copper, flexible Class 5 | Conductor class and cross-section must match the ordered variant. |
| Core insulation | PVC insulation, commonly referenced to TI2 / EN 50363-3 | Confirm compound and marking for the project specification. |
| Colour coding | Commonly DIN 47100 colour identification | Core count and colour sequence vary by size and manufacturer. |
| Screen | Overall tinned copper braid, commonly about 85% optical coverage | Confirm braid material, coverage and drain/earth treatment where EMC performance is critical. |
| Outer sheath | PVC sheath, commonly grey RAL 7032; TM2 / EN 50363-4-1 is a frequent reference | Sheath colour and compound are variant-specific. |
Applications
LiYCY is typically selected for indoor dry or damp low-voltage signal and control installations, including industrial automation, process control, instrumentation, measuring devices, computer and office equipment, electronic assemblies and control panels. The braided screen helps reduce electromagnetic coupling when the cable is correctly terminated and routed.
It is not a substitute for a power, reeling, mining trailing or outdoor-heavy-duty cable unless the exact construction is documented for that duty. For continuous flexing, outdoor exposure, oil, water, high voltage or safety-critical circuits, confirm suitability before ordering.
Specifications
| Parameter | Typical published reference | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Rated voltage | Often 350 V for 0.14 mm2; often 500 V for 0.25 mm2 and larger | Confirm the exact voltage marking for the selected core size. |
| Temperature | Published references commonly range from about -40 C to +80 C fixed; flexible limits may be approximately -5 C to +50/+70 C | Do not apply one universal temperature range to every LiYCY variant. |
| Bending radius | Typical fixed installation references are about 5-6 x outside diameter; occasional/flexible movement may be about 10-15 x outside diameter | Use the manufacturer value for the ordered construction and motion profile. |
| Test voltage | Published variants commonly specify about 1.2-1.5 kV test voltage | Core/core and core/screen values vary by design. |
| Electrical data | Capacitance, inductance, conductor resistance, diameter and weight depend on core count and cross-section | Request the exact datasheet table with the RFQ. |
Standards
- Common designation and construction references: VDE 0812 / VDE 0814.
- Common conductor reference: DIN VDE 0295 / IEC 60228, flexible Class 5.
- Common PVC material references: EN 50363-3 and EN 50363-4-1.
- Common flame-propagation reference: IEC 60332-1-2 / EN 60332-1-2 where specified for the ordered variant.
- DIN 47100 colour coding is commonly used for identification.
These are reference standards found in public LiYCY product literature. They are not a TEBAOFLEX model-specific certificate or approval. Confirm the exact standard, test report and regulatory scope for the supplied construction before project acceptance.
