UL 1815 is the UL wire style for 300 V, 250 °C appliance wire. TEBAOFLEX builds it with a PTFE fluoropolymer wall over silver-plated or nickel-plated copper, in sizes from 30 AWG to 10 AWG, with stranded and solid conductors and nominal overall diameters from 0.92 mm to 3.60 mm.
Choose UL 1815 for internal wiring of appliances and electronic equipment where the circuit voltage is 300 V or less and the wire runs close to heat. The PTFE insulation resists flame, corrosion and radiation, and the wire keeps good mechanical strength, flexibility and twist resistance in tight routing.

Application & Features
Selection overview
UL 1815 is used for the internal wiring of appliances and electronic equipment, such as connections inside cooking and heating appliances, power supplies, control units, instruments and test equipment, where many small-gauge wires run near hot parts. Sizes down to 30 AWG and the SAE colour series suit dense, colour-coded wiring, and the PTFE wall stays stable where flame, corrosive atmospheres or radiation are present.
Within the TEBAOFLEX PTFE range, compare UL 1659 for a 600 V, 250 °C lead wire with nickel-plated copper, UL 1570 for a 600 V, 250 °C wire with abrasion-resistant mineral-filled PTFE, and UL 1180 where a 300 V, 200 °C rating with silver-plated copper is enough.
- 250 °C ratingFor internal wiring that runs next to heating elements and other hot components.
- Fine sizesDown to 30 AWG, with solid conductors at 20, 28 and 30 AWG for compact point-to-point wiring.
- Plated copperSilver-plated or nickel-plated copper to suit the termination method and the duty.
- VW-1 flame ratingPTFE insulation with excellent flame, corrosion and radiation resistance.

Selection note: Dimensions are nominal and subject to manufacturing tolerances. Before ordering, ask our engineers to confirm the insulation wall tolerance, the reference temperature of the resistance values, the temperature rating for the conductor plating you choose, the minimum bending radius, the current rating for your installation, the VW-1 marking and the put-up lengths you need.

FAQ
Selection questions
What is UL 1815 wire?
UL 1815 is a UL wire style for 300 V, 250 °C appliance wire. The TEBAOFLEX version has PTFE fluoropolymer insulation over silver-plated or nickel-plated copper, from 30 AWG to 10 AWG, with a VW-1 flame rating, for the internal wiring of appliances and electronic equipment.
How is UL 1815 different from UL 1659 and UL 1180?
UL 1815 and UL 1659 are both 250 °C PTFE wires, but UL 1659 is rated 600 V with nickel-plated copper, while UL 1815 is rated 300 V with silver-plated or nickel-plated copper. UL 1180 is also a 300 V PTFE wire with silver-plated copper, rated 200 °C.
Silver-plated or nickel-plated copper: which should I choose?
Tell us the highest temperature at the wire and how it is terminated, for example soldered, crimped or welded. Our engineers confirm the plating that suits the duty and state its temperature rating on the datasheet issued with your quotation.
Why are some sizes solid?
At 20, 28 and 30 AWG the size table lists a solid conductor (1/0.813, 1/0.32 and 1/0.254), with stranded options also at 20 and 28 AWG. Solid wire suits fixed point-to-point wiring; choose a stranded construction where the wire flexes in service.
What should I send for a quotation?
Send the UL style, AWG size and stranding, conductor plating, SAE colour, put-up length, quantity and any UL, CSA or VW-1 marking requirement. Our engineers confirm the construction on the datasheet issued with your quotation.

Quality Assurance
Testing at every stage in our own workshop and laboratory, from incoming copper to the packed drum.

Raw Material Inspection
Every batch of copper rod, rubber compound and reinforcing material is checked before it reaches the line.
- Copper: conductor resistance, elongation and surface condition on incoming rod and drawn wire
- EPR, CPE, PUR and silicone compounds: hardness, tensile strength, elongation and ageing samples from each mix
- Suppliers and batch numbers are recorded so every drum can be traced back to its materials

Manufacturing Process Control
Stranding, insulation extrusion, core assembly and sheathing run under recorded process parameters.
- Class 5/6 stranding with lay length and tension monitored for trailing and reeling flexibility
- Continuous-vulcanisation extrusion with wall thickness and spark tests logged on every length
- Operators sign off each stage before the cable moves to the next machine

Electrical Testing
Finished lengths go through the routine tests required by the referenced VDE, ICEA, IEC or NEK standard.
- Conductor resistance and insulation resistance on every length
- Voltage withstand (3.5 kV and higher) and partial-discharge measurement in the shielded HV laboratory
- Screen and pilot-core continuity checks for mining and reeling constructions

Mechanical and Ageing Tests
Samples from production are tested for the duty a mining, crane or submersible cable will actually see.
- Tensile strength and elongation of insulation and sheath before and after ageing
- Hot-set, ozone, oil-immersion and low-temperature bending tests
- Constant-temperature water bath for insulation resistance of submersible constructions

Flame Test and Final Inspection
Before packing, the cable is checked against the order and the flame-performance requirement of its standard.
- Single-cable vertical flame test to IEC 60332-1-2 where specified
- Metre marking, printing, drum length and appearance inspection
- Test report and packing list issued with every shipment
