YnOGYekm Screened Cable for Mining Equipment
YnOGYekm mining cable is a 0.6/1 kV flexible PVC cable with individual copper-wire-and-plastic-thread screens on the power cores. It supplies stationary and portable mining equipment through three power conductors, an uninsulated protective conductor and either one or three control cores. PVC insulation, an inner sheath and a flame-retardant outer sheath complete the construction.
Start a replacement inquiry with the full conductor schedule. The five-core range contains six configurations with power sections from 2.5 to 25 mm². The seven-core range contains seven configurations from 16 to 120 mm². These are different control arrangements; a larger power conductor does not automatically provide the same protective or control-core sizes.
- Identify the screen: specify the individual braid construction and the equipment’s termination requirements.
- Count control circuits: select one or three control cores before comparing cable diameter.
- Check the route: fixed and movable installations use different minimum bend radii.
- Confirm the mine classification: provide the methane and coal-dust classification and the required acceptance documents.
The technical sections separate construction details, installation decisions and complete dimensional and electrical tables. Compare the core schedule, maximum diameter and weight together when selecting a replacement. Browse the mining cable range for other constructions, or download the YnOGYekm datasheet.
Construction
YnOGYekm uses a separate braid of copper wires and plastic thread around each power core. Three screened power cores, an uninsulated copper protective conductor and the selected control-core arrangement form the cable assembly.

| Component | YnOGYekm construction |
|---|---|
| Conductors | Copper, Class 5 to PN-EN 60228 |
| Power-core insulation and colors | PVC; natural, red and blue |
| Individual power-core screen | Copper wire braid with plastic thread on each power core |
| Protective conductor | Uninsulated copper |
| Control identification | Brown for one control core; natural, red and blue for three control cores |
| Assembly | Power and control cores assembled around the protective conductor |
| Inner sheath | PVC |
| Outer sheath | Special flame-retardant PVC; confirm color and marking with the order |
Specify the braid and its termination
Screen construction is part of the model selection. Give the termination supplier the individual-braid arrangement and the equipment connection drawing; do not substitute a compound screen merely because the voltage and conductor sizes match.
Identify the complete core schedule
The illustrated five-core section contains three power cores, one protective conductor and one control core. Seven-core orders add three control cores instead. Confirm the control count, each control-core area and protective-conductor area separately.
Confirm sheath color with the order
The product view and cross-section show a black outer sheath. Confirm the required color, including any yellow-sheath requirement, and the cable marking when placing the order.
Applications
YnOGYekm supplies stationary and portable electrical equipment in open-pit, strip and underground mines. The application range includes methane hazard classes a, b and c and coal-dust hazard classes A and B. Match the mine classification and required acceptance documentation to the installation before ordering.

One control circuit or three
Use the equipment wiring diagram to choose the five- or seven-core layout. A seven-core cable provides three control conductors, but their individual cross-sections vary with the selected configuration; spare core count alone is not enough to choose a replacement.
Plan bends and cable handling together
Allow at least 6 × outside diameter for fixed bends and 10 × outside diameter for movable bends. Check clearances at cable glands and changes in direction using the selected configuration's maximum diameter. Include cable length and weight when reviewing support and handling arrangements.
Describe the movement and environment
For repeated travel, drum service or torsion, send the movement pattern and handling arrangement for engineering review. Include exposure to water, chemicals, oil or mechanical impact so cable protection and suitability can be confirmed for the route.
Specifications
Select YnOGYekm by its full power, protective and control-conductor configuration. D in the bend requirements means the finished cable outside diameter; the dimensional tables give maximum OD.

Compare the complete configuration
YnOGYekm 3x25+16+3x2.5 identifies three 25 mm² power cores, one 16 mm² protective conductor and three 2.5 mm² control cores. A 3x25+16+16 configuration has one 16 mm² control core instead. Keep that distinction in the purchase description and termination schedule.

Quality Assurance
Testing at every stage in our own workshop and laboratory, from incoming copper to the packed drum.

Raw Material Inspection
Every batch of copper rod, rubber compound and reinforcing material is checked before it reaches the line.
- Copper: conductor resistance, elongation and surface condition on incoming rod and drawn wire
- EPR, CPE, PUR and silicone compounds: hardness, tensile strength, elongation and ageing samples from each mix
- Suppliers and batch numbers are recorded so every drum can be traced back to its materials

Manufacturing Process Control
Stranding, insulation extrusion, core assembly and sheathing run under recorded process parameters.
- Class 5/6 stranding with lay length and tension monitored for trailing and reeling flexibility
- Continuous-vulcanisation extrusion with wall thickness and spark tests logged on every length
- Operators sign off each stage before the cable moves to the next machine

Electrical Testing
Finished lengths go through the routine tests required by the referenced VDE, ICEA, IEC or NEK standard.
- Conductor resistance and insulation resistance on every length
- Voltage withstand (3.5 kV and higher) and partial-discharge measurement in the shielded HV laboratory
- Screen and pilot-core continuity checks for mining and reeling constructions

Mechanical and Ageing Tests
Samples from production are tested for the duty a mining, crane or submersible cable will actually see.
- Tensile strength and elongation of insulation and sheath before and after ageing
- Hot-set, ozone, oil-immersion and low-temperature bending tests
- Constant-temperature water bath for insulation resistance of submersible constructions

Flame Test and Final Inspection
Before packing, the cable is checked against the order and the flame-performance requirement of its standard.
- Single-cable vertical flame test to IEC 60332-1-2 where specified
- Metre marking, printing, drum length and appearance inspection
- Test report and packing list issued with every shipment
