YnOGYek Screened Cable for Mining Equipment
YnOGYek screened mining cable is a 0.6/1 kV PVC cable with semiconducting compound screens over its three power cores. Flexible Class 5 copper conductors are combined with an uninsulated protective conductor and one brown control core. The five-conductor layout supplies stationary and portable electrical equipment in open-pit, strip and underground mining installations.
The listed range contains four configurations with power-conductor sections from 2.5 to 10 mm². Each designation records three power cores, the protective-conductor area and the control-core area. Check all three parts against the equipment wiring schedule before using the power size or outside diameter to identify a replacement.
- Specify the screen material: YnOGYek uses an extruded semiconducting compound screen on each power core.
- Keep the control circuit: every listed configuration includes one control core, whose size must match the connection requirement.
- Allow space for movement: the movable-installation bend requirement is larger than the fixed-installation requirement.
- Define the mine location: provide the methane and coal-dust classification, together with the acceptance documents required for that route.
Use the Construction section to identify the layers and the Specifications section to compare maximum outside diameter, cable weight and reference electrical data. Browse the wider mining cable range when another core arrangement or screen type is needed, or download the YnOGYek datasheet.
Construction
Each YnOGYek power core has an extruded semiconducting compound screen. The three screened power cores and one control core are assembled around an uninsulated copper protective conductor, with PVC inner and outer sheaths.

| Component | YnOGYek construction |
|---|---|
| Conductors | Copper, Class 5 to PN-EN 60228 |
| Power-core insulation and colors | PVC; natural, red and blue |
| Individual power-core screen | Semiconducting compound extruded over each power core |
| Protective conductor | Uninsulated copper |
| Control identification | Brown; one control core |
| Assembly | Power and control cores assembled around the protective conductor |
| Inner sheath | PVC |
| Outer sheath | Special flame-retardant PVC; confirm color and marking with the order |
Specify the compound screen accurately
Describe the screen as an individual semiconducting compound layer when requesting a replacement. A copper-wire braid or a common metallic shield is a different construction. Provide the equipment connection drawing so the protective conductor and screened cores can be reviewed together.
Keep the control core distinct
The brown core is the control conductor; the central uninsulated copper element is the protective conductor. Include both sizes in the ordering designation instead of requesting only a five-core cable of a single nominal area.
Confirm sheath color with the order
The product view and cross-section show a black outer sheath. Confirm the required color, including any yellow-sheath requirement, and the cable marking when placing the order.
Applications
YnOGYek is used for stationary and portable equipment supply in open-pit, strip and underground mines. Selection for methane-classified excavations or coal-dust areas must match the local classification and the installation's acceptance requirements.

Confirm the mine-location scope
Include methane classes a, b or c and coal-dust classes A or B, as applicable, in the technical inquiry. Submit any coal-dust class C requirement for project-specific confirmation before ordering, together with the required inspection and acceptance documents.
Match the five-conductor circuit
Each listed configuration has three power cores, one protective conductor and one control core. Check the control circuit's required conductor area against the exact designation: it is 4 mm² in the 3x6+6+4 configuration and 6 mm² in 3x10+10+6.
Use the route to select the bend allowance
Plan at least 6 × outside diameter for fixed installation and 10 × outside diameter for movable installation. Include the actual movement, cable support, entry glands and termination space in the selection review. Repeated reeling, torsion and exposure to oil, chemicals or standing water require a separate duty assessment.
Specifications
Select YnOGYek by its full power, protective and control-conductor configuration. D in the bend requirements means the finished cable outside diameter; the dimensional tables give maximum OD.

| Rated voltage U₀/U | 0.6/1 kV |
| Operating temperature range | -30 to +70 °C |
| Maximum short-circuit temperature | 160 °C |
| Minimum bend radius, fixed | 6 × D |
| Minimum bend radius, movable | 10 × D |
| Power-conductor range | 2.5–10 mm² |
| Total conductors | 5 |
Read all parts of the designation
YnOGYek 3x10+10+6 means three 10 mm² power conductors, one 10 mm² protective conductor and one 6 mm² control conductor. Its 27.7 mm maximum outside diameter must be checked against the cable entry and supported route; the 1150 kg/km weight supports handling and length planning.
| Model + configuration | Total conductors | Power (mm²) | Protective (mm²) | Each control (mm²) | Max. OD (mm) | Weight (kg/km) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| YnOGYek 3x2.5+2.5+2.5 | 5 | 2.5 | 2.5 | 2.5 | 20.2 | 535 |
| YnOGYek 3x4+4+4 | 5 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 21.7 | 660 |
| YnOGYek 3x6+6+4 | 5 | 6 | 6 | 4 | 24.4 | 850 |
| YnOGYek 3x10+10+6 | 5 | 10 | 10 | 6 | 27.7 | 1150 |

Quality Assurance
Testing at every stage in our own workshop and laboratory, from incoming copper to the packed drum.

Raw Material Inspection
Every batch of copper rod, rubber compound and reinforcing material is checked before it reaches the line.
- Copper: conductor resistance, elongation and surface condition on incoming rod and drawn wire
- EPR, CPE, PUR and silicone compounds: hardness, tensile strength, elongation and ageing samples from each mix
- Suppliers and batch numbers are recorded so every drum can be traced back to its materials

Manufacturing Process Control
Stranding, insulation extrusion, core assembly and sheathing run under recorded process parameters.
- Class 5/6 stranding with lay length and tension monitored for trailing and reeling flexibility
- Continuous-vulcanisation extrusion with wall thickness and spark tests logged on every length
- Operators sign off each stage before the cable moves to the next machine

Electrical Testing
Finished lengths go through the routine tests required by the referenced VDE, ICEA, IEC or NEK standard.
- Conductor resistance and insulation resistance on every length
- Voltage withstand (3.5 kV and higher) and partial-discharge measurement in the shielded HV laboratory
- Screen and pilot-core continuity checks for mining and reeling constructions

Mechanical and Ageing Tests
Samples from production are tested for the duty a mining, crane or submersible cable will actually see.
- Tensile strength and elongation of insulation and sheath before and after ageing
- Hot-set, ozone, oil-immersion and low-temperature bending tests
- Constant-temperature water bath for insulation resistance of submersible constructions

Flame Test and Final Inspection
Before packing, the cable is checked against the order and the flame-performance requirement of its standard.
