YKGYFtZnyn 3.6/6 kV Steel Tape Armored Mining Cable
3.6/6 kV PVC mining power cable with class 2 compacted copper conductors, a common copper tape screen and galvanized steel tape armor. Ten configurations cover 10-185 mm² power conductors; suitable excavation inclination is up to 45°.
Overview
YKGYFtZnyn mining cable is a 3.6/6 kV power cable with PVC insulation, a common copper tape screen and galvanized steel tape armor. It supplies electrical equipment and carries power through mine distribution routes, including excavations inclined up to 45 degrees. The design uses compacted class 2 copper conductors and a red PVC outer sheath with specified flame-propagation performance.
The range covers ten three-power-core configurations from 10 to 185 mm². Each construction has its own diameter, weight and electrical data, so the complete designation matters when matching a new run to existing equipment. The configuration suffix forms part of the order description and should remain on the cable schedule, quotation and termination review.
Select this model around the required voltage, steel tape armor and installation route. The copper tape screen and steel tape armor perform different roles in the construction; both need to be considered when planning cable entries and terminations. The route also needs enough space for the minimum bend radius and appropriate support for the selected cable weight.
Use the technical sections below to compare construction, routing requirements and the complete size tables. For other equipment duties, browse the mining cable range. The YKGYFtZnyn PDF datasheet provides a compact reference for project documentation.
Construction
YKGYFtZnyn combines a common copper tape screen with galvanized steel tape armor around a three-core PVC assembly.

| Power conductors | Compacted stranded copper, class 2, PN-EN 60228 |
| Insulation | Special PVC |
| Core identification | Natural-colored cores numbered 1, 2 and 3 |
| Core assembly | Power conductors stranded around a PVC liner |
| Filler sheath | PVC or non-vulcanized rubber |
| Inner sheath | PVC |
| Common screen | Copper tape |
| Separating sheath | Molded PVC or special PVC tape |
| Armor | Galvanized steel tape |
| Outer sheath | Special flame-retardant PVC, red |
| Oxygen index | >29 |
Specify the screen and armor separately
The copper tape screen is a separate layer inside the steel tape armor. Keep both elements on the termination specification so that the entry, bonding arrangement and accessories match the ordered cable. Steel wire armor is a different construction and should not be substituted merely because the conductor size is the same.
When the filler and inner sheath use the same material, they may form one component. Confirm the final layer arrangement with the selected construction drawing before specifying stripping lengths.
Confirm the sheath color for the order
The product and cross-section illustrations use black outer-sheath coloring. The 3.6/6 kV construction is specified with a red PVC outer sheath. Include the required color and cable marking on the order.
Applications
YKGYFtZnyn is intended for 3.6/6 kV power transmission and the supply of electrical equipment in mines.

Match the route to the 45° installation limit
Use this construction in excavations with inclination up to 45°. A route that becomes steeper needs a separate cable selection review; a larger conductor size does not change the model's inclination limit.
Plan support and bend space together
Allow a minimum bending radius of 10 times the cable outside diameter. Review the route, support arrangement, entry position and handling equipment with the diameter and weight of the selected size. Keep the copper screen and armor termination requirements on the installation drawing.
Match the mine conditions
Before ordering, ask our engineers to confirm the mine-area classification, route inclination, fixing arrangement and required approval documentation for the project. Specify stationary distribution duty and identify any movement or pulling requirements separately.

Earth-data key: Earth capacitance means to-earth capacitance. Earth SC means to-earth short-circuit current, expressed in A/km; it is separate from the short-circuit value in kA. Before ordering, confirm the fault duration, installation arrangement, ambient temperature and load conditions for the protection and conductor-sizing calculations.

Quality Assurance
Testing at every stage in our own workshop and laboratory, from incoming copper to the packed drum.

Raw Material Inspection
Every batch of copper rod, rubber compound and reinforcing material is checked before it reaches the line.
- Copper: conductor resistance, elongation and surface condition on incoming rod and drawn wire
- EPR, CPE, PUR and silicone compounds: hardness, tensile strength, elongation and ageing samples from each mix
- Suppliers and batch numbers are recorded so every drum can be traced back to its materials

Manufacturing Process Control
Stranding, insulation extrusion, core assembly and sheathing run under recorded process parameters.
- Class 5/6 stranding with lay length and tension monitored for trailing and reeling flexibility
- Continuous-vulcanisation extrusion with wall thickness and spark tests logged on every length
- Operators sign off each stage before the cable moves to the next machine

Electrical Testing
Finished lengths go through the routine tests required by the referenced VDE, ICEA, IEC or NEK standard.
- Conductor resistance and insulation resistance on every length
- Voltage withstand (3.5 kV and higher) and partial-discharge measurement in the shielded HV laboratory
- Screen and pilot-core continuity checks for mining and reeling constructions

Mechanical and Ageing Tests
Samples from production are tested for the duty a mining, crane or submersible cable will actually see.
- Tensile strength and elongation of insulation and sheath before and after ageing
- Hot-set, ozone, oil-immersion and low-temperature bending tests
- Constant-temperature water bath for insulation resistance of submersible constructions

Flame Test and Final Inspection
Before packing, the cable is checked against the order and the flame-performance requirement of its standard.
- Single-cable vertical flame test to IEC 60332-1-2 where specified
- Metre marking, printing, drum length and appearance inspection
- Test report and packing list issued with every shipment
