What’s the NSHTOEU Scoops LHDs cable?
1. Basic Introduction
NSHTOEU Cable (also marked NSHTÖU) is a VDE-standard (DIN VDE 0250-814) heavy-duty underground mining reeling cable specifically designed for specially engineered for underground mining Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) vehicles and scoops. It features excellent flexibility, torsion resistance, tensile strength and abrasion resistance, ideal for frequent reeling, dragging and heavy mechanical stress.
2. Code Meaning (VDE 0250 Part 814)
- N: Compliant with German national VDE standards
- S: Heavy-duty design with central tension member
- H: Rubber insulation (EPR)
- T: Textile braid for anti-torsion performance
- O: Oil resistant
- E: High tensile & elongation resistance
- U: Flame retardant outer sheath
3. Main Technical Ratings
- Rated voltage: 0.6/1 kV
- Temperature range: -40°C ~ +90°C; -25°C ~ +60°C for dynamic operation
- Minimum bend radius: 5 × overall diameter (dynamic); 4 × overall diameter (fixed)
- Key properties: Anti-torsion (±25°/m), tensile, abrasion-proof, oil-resistant, flame-retardant, halogen-free, water & UV resistant
4. Applications
- Underground mining LHDs and scoops
- Mobile mining machinery, loaders and continuous miners
- Equipment with single-drum reeling systems in narrow tunnels
Precautions of NSHTOEU Underground Mining Reeling Cable for Use
Reel diameter must be ≥ 12 × cable outer diameter Arrange in a single, neat layer; avoid crushing, crossing, or overlapping Guide wheels and rollers must be smooth, free of sharp edges or burrs
2. Environmental Requirements Underground roadways:
damp, dusty, and subject to rockfall/debris impact Resistant to machine oil, hydraulic fluid, emulsions, acids, and alkalis Flame-retardant and self-extinguishing; compliant with IEC 60332-1
3. Safety and Maintenance Requirements
Daily inspections Check outer sheath for cracks, abrasion, bulging, heat damage, or oil saturation Check connectors and terminations for looseness, overheating, or discoloration Check reel winding for neatness and ensure there is no jamming or binding
4. Prohibited Conditions
Outer sheath damaged, exposing the core Insulation aged, hardened, or cracked Broken conductor strands or overheated connections Torsion exceeding permissible limits or severe deformation
5. Common Specifications (Typical for LHDs (Local Hard Disk Loaders)
4×16 mm² (6 kN): Low-power
LHD 4×35 mm² (12 kN): Medium-power
LHD 4×50 mm² (12/30 kN): High-power LHD
NSHTOEU Mining LHD Loaders Cable Packaging Requirements
NSHTOEU cables are heavy-duty, high-tensile-strength, frequently wound cables. Packaging is uniformly done using: Solid wooden reels (standard): Export/Long-distance transport
All-iron reels (high strength): Large cross-section (≥35mm²), long length (≥200m) or repeated use in mines.

The following are the standard reel dimensions (mm) for common NSHTOEU reels with outer diameters of 25–50mm and lengths of 100–300m:
1) Reel Diameter (Outer Diameter) OD
Common: 800 / 1000 / 1250 / 1400 mm
Common for LHD: 1000 mm (100–200m), 1250 mm mm (200–300m)
2) Shaft Diameter (Cylinder Diameter) ID
Must meet: ID ≥ 20 × Cable Outer Diameter (to prevent factory bending damage)
Typical: 350 / 400 / 500 mm
For NSHTOEU (outer diameter ≈ 30–45mm): Recommended ID ≥ 500 mm
3) Coil Width (Inner Width) W
Single Layer Winding: W = Cable Length Layout Width + 50mm Allowance
Common: 400 / 500 / 600 mm
LHD Common: 500 mm
4) Side Plate Thickness
Solid Wood: 25–30 mm
Iron Wood / Iron Coil: 20–25 mm
